Bush's Hurricane Numbers Tank

Posted by Frankie at 9/02/2005 02:20:00 PM

America is realizing that this country has become even worse off in responding to disaster even after 2001. A Republican Sanator from Louisiana, David Vitter has said the death toll could top 10,000.
"My guess is that it will start at 10,000, but that is only a guess"
It's now evident that although people who were not supported by the government to evacuate, they are still not supported and the majority of deaths are occurring DAYS after Katrina.

Bush did not take action until 3 days after Katrina, instead he was giving speeches at white country clubs and playing guitar with b-list country singers. His poll numbers are tanking deservedly so for it. What these people have done is just criminal. Servey USA (via Kos) has the scientific and statistically significant poll numbers with n=1,200 each day.

Is the federal government doing too much? Not enough? Or just the right amount to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina?

Thinking just about the President of the United States ... Do you approve or disapprove of President Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina?

You would really have to be a hard core Republican to say you approve of his handling of this. I have even seen people on FOX news go after him a bit and when that happens you know things are really screwed up.

Our country has lurched almost reflexively to the right, seemingly without regard for the result, reality or morality. And a number of white people, most of them in politics, still do not see minorities as being worthy of the equal treatment we deserve as human beings. Watching so many people deflect criticism from Bush for the Federal disaster relief failure on the Gulf Coast, is making me sick. The divide between rich and poor is always wide, but it seems to expand in cycles that are directly related to a republican administration being in the white house. When the republicans come into office, the racism increases, the economy tanks and the gap between rich and poor widens, guaranteed! We know who Bush is helping out and remember, we are still waiting for the trickle down effect from the Regan era to materialize and begin to start helping the poor.If Clinton was Slick Willy what in Gods' name is George W Bush? He tells us black people that we need to start taking personal responsibility for our actions, yet, he has not taken responsibility for anything that has gone wrong in his administration, not even when people died and not even when it was obvious to any sane person that he should have. The thing that hurts me the most is that while going through this disaster, as bad as it has been and as many lives that have been unecessarily lost; I have lived in America long enough to know that this crisis is not going to change the attitudes of a large number of white people, and America will most certainly continue on as it has since it was started...abusing and ignoring the humanity of its' lower class "citizens".
