Here is something I did not know about the cross, American flag, and flower, memorial destruction of Iraqi War soldiers at Camp Casey in Crawford. Not that it can ever really be answered; however, Republican and Vietnam War veteran Larry Chad Northern was caught while changing a tire on his pickup truck after he destroyed a cross and American flag memorial earlier this week. Evidently, Northern was caught around 9:30PM because he was changing a flat tire. The Sheriff's report noted that the small white crosses from the memorial were stuck in the undergarage of the truck. From observing picture of the destroyed crosses, you can see that nails were use to peg the crosses into the ground. The nails were probably what ended up causing the flat tire and thus, leading to the identification and capture of Northern. Without the unfortunate flat, it could have been likely that Northern could have gotten away.
Northern is free on $3,000 bail and faces state jail felony charges of criminal mischief over $1,500 but less than $20,000. He and his family attend Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.
