General Clark Sums Up Iraq War

Posted by Frankie at 8/26/2005 03:13:00 PM

Four Star General Wesley Clark has just nails it today in the Washington Post where he manages to sum up what the majority of Americans now think about the war in Iraq.
In the old, familiar fashion, mounting U.S. casualties in Iraq have mobilized increasing public doubts about the war. More than half the American people now believe that the invasion of Iraq was a mistake. They're right.
...
Resolve isn't enough to mend a flawed approach -- or to save the lives of our troops. If the administration won't adopt a winning strategy, then the American people will be justified in demanding that it bring our troops home.
Americans know that "stay the course" is synonymous with losing. Either we change that statuesque or get out. Also note that 75 American Soldiers and Marines have been killed since Bush went on vacation.
