Worse than Watergate... Yet Again

Posted by Frankie at 7/12/2005 12:14:00 AM

The one lie that started the entire ball rolling to the countless lies has finally come back to haunt the Whitehouse. The fabrication that the administration knew they had to lie about just to keep it hidden until after the election has now come to intuition. Yet, there is still so much we do not know and only time will tell. Already one lie has been proven when both Bush and Rove himself (yeah I know, big shock) stated themselves or through press secretary McClellen stated Rove had no connection to the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame. Bush lies when he said whoever leaked Plame’s cover would be fired… though we may see that soon. Many in Congress and the press are REALLY calling for Rove’s resignation now.

Probably the most interesting part is that Rove has already testified three times to the grand jury regarding this ongoing investigation. It may be that Rove will go with the I didn’t “knowingly” out Plame story because he doesn’t have clearance for that type of intelligence. This is only a possibility. Now of course the architect himself Rove knows what he is doing, but it could end up being somebody over his head who actually revealed the name to Rove, so they will say. Thus, Rove told reporters but did not do so “knowingly” because he didn’t have the intelligence clearance himself to commit the crime… or so the story may go.

So what if it was Cheney or even Bush who “gave” the identity to Rove for retaliation. We know that none of these men have the guts to do any serious time in prison for treason, hell even serving in the military is unthinkable to them. One of these wimps will squeal when push comes to shove as it’s in their nature to be always self serving first.

There are still so may unknowns yet but it was the best news day in a long time. The lie that led to the lie about the war in Iraq have finally come back to smack these criminals in the face. McClellen’s performance yesterday was enough to see how dire the situation is. I would love to be able to hear the conversations about how they can work this one out. The press has come back to life (let’s hope they stay there), and the lies are starting to unravel.
