In the burning churches for Jesus movement, a church in the great progressive state of Virginia was set on fire and vandalized with anti-gay graffiti. The United Church of Christ recently approved a resolution that is accepting of gay and lesbian marriages, though it is not binding to local congregations. The exterior of St. John's Reformed United Church of Christ in Middlebrook, VA also included a message that United Church of Christ members were sinners.

Meanwhile, two black churches in the progressive state Tennessee were set fire though investigators do not believe the arrested suspect did so as a hate crime. Also, a mosque was set fire in the progressive state of Indiana and the FBI are investigating it as a hate crime.
