Rove is right: there are differences

Posted by Frankie at 6/24/2005 10:23:00 AM

Stait from the DNC:

White House spokesman Scott McClellan says that Karl Rove just meant that Democrats and Republicans had "different philosophies" when it comes to their reactions following 9/11. We agree. Our philosophies couldn't be more different when it comes to fighting international terrorism. Let's compare:

Democrats
Believe capturing the person primarily responsible for the attack should be a top priority.

Republicans
It's been four years, and Osama bin Laden is still free, even though Bush's CIA chief says he knows where he is.

Democrats
Investigate the intelligence failures that led to 9/11.

Republicans
Do everything in their power to block the 9/11 Commission from doing its work.

Democrats
Propose creating the Department of Homeland Security.

Republicans
Push tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Democrats
Believe we should have stayed the course in Afghanistan, not allowing the Taliban to resurge, the warlords to take power, and the opium trade to skyrocket.

Republicans
Ignore Afghanistan as the situation worsens.

Democrats
Believe that we should be honest with our troops about the reasons we go to war, give them everything they need to be safe, and make sure we go in with an exit plan.

Republicans
Manipulate intelligence to trump up reasons to go to war, don't give our troops the support they need, constantly mislead the public about the direction the war is going, and fail to make an exit plan. And turn Iraq into the ultimate terrorist training ground.

and Kos adds:

Democrats
Demand accountability.

Republicans
Avoid accountability it all cost.

Update: Thanks Randi!

Democrats
Get Osama Bin Laden.

Republicans
Fly Bin Laden family out of the US.

I was just browsing around and ended up on your blog. You have some interesting points, although I don't agree with most of them. But on this topic you forgot to mention that 81 Democrats from the House of Representatives voted in favor of giving President Bush the authority to go to war with Iraq. Otherwise, you did an excellent job at stating partial facts that make the Democrats look really, really good.

I happily stumbled onto this blog and it is by far the funniest I have been to in a while. The title is REPUBLICANS hate America, but all I see is hatred coming from you. Listen to yourself, what do you spend the day trying to make Bush look bad? Seems like you should spend more time doing something else and make yourself a better American, not spew hatred towards the majority of voters that made Bush have the highest number of votes in HISTORY. Or did the evil Republicans make up those 3 million+ votes that Kerry got his ass kicked by? Oh yeah, I also find it funny that you forgot to mention that Dick the Dick Durbin compared our troops to Nazi's and then gave some lame non-apology, that was very surprising. I noticed that some of your entries are in the middle of the night, do you have to get up in the morning? Oh right, right, its the Republicans fault you stay up all night. It does seem you have put a lot of work into this, its just a shame it couldn't be done toward something else. Hell, you may have been able to cure cancer by now, oh wait thats George Bush's fault to, right? One more thing, it is hard to believe, but there is a lot more to life than complaining about politics. It is a waste of time to try to get someone to think the same way as you, especially if you do by verbally bashing the other side, you get no respect that way.

Glad you like the site, I do try to make it entertaining. Yes, 81 House Democrats did vote to give Bush the power to go to war… as a last resort. Which we all know it wasn’t. How can it be a “last resort” if we had to tell the UN weapon inspectors to leave???

I am not the one spreading the date… disregarding the Constitution, and destroying the middle class, every post here is an example.

not spew hatred towards the majority of voters that made Bush have the highest number of votes in HISTORY. Or did the evil Republicans make up those 3 million+ votes that Kerry got his ass kicked by?

Yeah, and 2.5% “ass kick(ing)” So in 2008 whoever’s party win, I guess they too will have the “higher number of votes in HISTORY” too? Nice logic.

Oh yeah, I also find it funny that you forgot to mention that Dick the Dick Durbin compared our troops to Nazi's and then gave some lame non-apology, that was very surprising.

I was saddened by his apology. Republicans have never used Nazi references, Rick Santorum anyone...

I noticed that some of your entries are in the middle of the night, do you have to get up in the morning? Oh right, right, its the Republicans fault you stay up all night.

Yeah, because it matters what time I post, even though this post was done at 10:23AM. I figured a hard working Republican like yourself would busy on the job right now, and not have the leisure time to post on a blog.

It does seem you have put a lot of work into this, its just a shame it couldn't be done toward something else. Hell, you may have been able to cure cancer by now, oh wait thats George Bush's fault to, right?

Glad you noticed my work and effort. I would like to cure cancer but with increased arsenic and other pollutants which have been rolled back by Bush, but what the hell you know? I do have a BS in Biology, but I don’t see Cancer research in my future.

One more thing, it is hard to believe, but there is a lot more to life than complaining about politics. It is a waste of time to try to get someone to think the same way as you, especially if you do by verbally bashing the other side, you get no respect that way.

OK, I will take that into consideration…

I believe in a system of checks and balance and an equilibrium between the two major parties. As stated from this website:

"Of course not all Republicans or Conservatives, hate America, but all Neocons do and they do not deny it. This blog is a collection news stories and other events in which one can truly see how these people cannot stand our country and want to change it for their liking, and their liking only."
